Whether its the middle of summer and its the smell of fresh blueberry muffins in the oven or its Thanksgiving with the scents of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg floating through the house - we all have that one scent of baking that triggers those happy memories
The Underground Baker is about bringing fresh, local and organic ingredients into all seasonal offerings - along with providing gluten free options so that everyone can enjoy a delicious treat!
Over the past several years I was living and working in NYC where I discovered or better stated re-discovered my passion for baking. It was through the art world and friendships within the culinary world that encouraged and challenged my creative skills. As many do I started in the shadows and behind the scenes sharing
treats with friends and family all the while digging through family recipes old and new. As is with all
things, new paths develop and my family made a move out of the city. This journey has brought me to where I am today - newly located in Maryland and enjoying all the fresh and local selections this state has to offer.
